This week, the UIL Girls State Soccer tournament features three local teams that haven't been in operation for very long. Young programs such as Rouse (2008), Hendrickson (2003), and Vandegrift (2009)  have all earned a spot in the state semi-finals.

For two of the three, it will be the first appearance in each school's history. Rouse and Hendrickson have never appeared in a state tournament until this year. Vandegrift on the other hand will be making it's third trip in four years. The Vipers won a state championship in 2014.

Rouse will face Aledo in the class 5A semi-finals. In 6A, Hendrickson will play Keller, while Vandegrift meets Katy Tompkins.
