AUSTIN, Texas — Two old rivals concluded a two-game, mid-week series at Disch-Falk Field Wednesday night. Texas beat Arkansas, 7-6, improving to 6-0 in one-run games this season.

The 111th meeting between Arkansas and Texas was the complete opposite of Tuesday night's 11-4 thumping of the Longhorns by the Razorbacks.

The calling of the hogs by dozens of Razorback fans occurred early on. Arkansas took a 4-0 lead in the second inning. The Hogs roughed up UT pitcher, Kolby Kubichek for four runs on five hits.

The Longhorns outscored the Hogs 7-2 the remainder of the game.

The Razorbacks' pitching staff was generous, allowing 14 walks to the Longhorns. Texas faced eight Arkansas pitchers.

Tristan Stevens received the win for the Longhorns. Cedar Park native Cole Quintanilla picked up the save, his fourth of the season.

Texas improved to 16-8 on the season and will head to Fort Worth this weekend for a key Big 12 series against the TCU Horned Frogs.
