AUSTIN – Starting Thursday night, Loyola Lane will be reduced to one lane in each direction east of U.S. 183 as part of the 183 South project.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority said one of the two left turn lanes from southbound 183 to Loyola will be closed so crews can complete the new northbound lanes of U.S. 183 where they cross Loyola.

The closure is expected to last through October 2017, and motorists are advised to take alternate routes that include Johnny Morris Road, Old Manor Road, Springdale/Manor Roads and FM 969/MLK Jr. Boulevard.

A portion of the sidewalk on Loyola Lane east of U.S. 183 and the pedestrian crossing at Loyola Lane/U.S. 183 will be closed during the work, but pedestrian and bicycle access on Loyola Lane west of 183 will not be impacted.
