The first day of early voting in Texas saw a record number of voters in both Williamson and Travis Counties.

The Travis County Clerk’s office reported a total of 46,086 votes cast on Oct. 24, and Williamson County Elections reported 24,214 votes cast or mailed in. Williamson County added the number of ballots cast represents more than 8.5 percent voter turnout. Travis County’s voter turnout on Monday alone represented around 6.3 percent of the county’s registered voters.
