Three of the five incumbents on the Austin City Council held onto their seats in Tuesday’s election, with one runoff election ahead and one member losing their seat.

Delia Garza, Greg Casar and Leslie Pool held onto their seats representing Districts 2, 4 and 7, respectively. A runoff election will be scheduled for District 10 between incumbent Sheri Gallo and challenger Alison Alter. James “Jimmy” Flannigan will represent Austin’s District 6 after defeating incumbent Don Zimmerman.

Garza defeated challengers Casey Ramos and Wesley Faulkner with 65.16 percent of Tuesday’s vote. Casar received 60.95 of the vote in District 4, beating challengers Louis C. Herrin, III and Gonzalo Camacho. Pool pulled in 71.94 percent of the vote in District 7, defeating Natalie Gauldin.

Gallo received 48.23 percent of the vote in District 10, and will face off against Alter, who received 35.52 percent of the vote. Flannigan, who lost to Zimmerman by 191 votes in 2014, won Tuesday by 3,250 votes.
