A mother and her 11-year-old son have been accused of chasing a male around an apartment building while wielding knives, police said.
Court documents state that the suspect, 35-year-old Lisa Marie Pickens, and her son were seen chasing the victim around the building on Saturday both with knives in their hands. The victim told police that Pickens had accused him of breaking into her home recently and that she and her son pulled a knife on him, started chasing him and that he fell once barely escaping being stabbed.
On the scene, police said they spoke to a witness who said she saw Pickens and her son chase the victim around the apartment building at least two times. She also said she saw Pickens put the knife in her son’s hand. After this, the witness said she called the victim into her home and called the police.
The witness stated she also saw the victim fall to the ground and observed Pickens and her son raise their knives in an overhead stabbing motion as they got closer to the victim but he we was able to get up before a stabbing occurred.
Police said that when asked why she was chasing the victim, Pickens said she was warning him not to bully her son.
Pickens was charged with aggravated assault, a second-degree felony. Her bond was set at $75,000.
