The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is offering a program this summer to educate youth on incarceration.

The youth jail tour program is designed to educate youth on the realities of incarceration, increase understanding and awareness of the criminal justice system and to emphasize the consequences of breaking the law.

“Our goal is to is to educate youth and stop them from making poor decisions before it’s too late," said Sheriff Robert Chody in a statement.

The first tour is scheduled for June 29 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and only 10 sports are available. Parents who wish to sign up their children for this tour or for more information must contact Lt. Jeff Williams at 512-943-1406 or
