Children in Cedar Park will have the chance to learn how to defend themselves against attackers at a Self Defense Academy Saturday.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office said they are partnering with the Cedar Park Police Department to provide free training for approximately 200 kids, ranging in age from 3 to 12.
The sheriff's office said they hope to teach personal safety awareness, as well as self-defense tactics.
Parents are encouraged to attend.
Georgetown held a similar event in January and it was a success, according to the sheriff's department.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cedar Park Recreation Center on 1435 Main Street Cedar Park, Texas.
