CEDAR PARK, Texas – After being closed through Thanksgiving and Black Friday, a Cedar Park Walmart has partially reopened to customers.
A Walmart associate confirmed to KVUE the grocery section of the store reopened at 8 a.m. Monday. As of Wednesday, the pharmacy, the health and beauty section, the pets section and all of the checkouts have reopened. The rest of the store remains closed while crews continue to clean up. There is no timeline for reopening the remainder of the store.
The store near U.S. 183/Bell Boulevard and RM 1431 closed after police say two fires were set in the store Nov. 22. Cedar Park Fire Department said crews were called to the store around 1:45 a.m., and that the sprinkler system was able to extinguish most of the fire before crews arrived. Authorities said they spoke to a person at the fire, but did not say if anyone had been arrested or charged.
Associates have been reassigned to other stores during the closure, the company told KVUE on Wednesday. Video of the fire went viral after Jackie Sinclair took video of the fires and posted them on Facebook. (May contain strong language.)
