The U.S. Marshals announced Friday that a man accused of molesting a 7-year-old girl has been arrested without incident at a residence on Masonwood Drive in Kyle, Texas.

Officials said Martin Michael Flores Jr., 26, was initially sought pursuant to a warrant filed by the Austin Police Department in September for an aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony. According to an arrest affidavit for Flores, he allegedly recorded himself on his cellphone sexually assaulting the girl in East Austin.

U.S. Marshals said Flores had a criminal past that included narcotics possession, weapons offenses, fraud and bail jumping. He was transported and remanded to the custody of the Travis County Jail pending further court appearances.

The victim's mother released this statement to KVUE:

"I'm truly blessed that God has answered my prayers and that now Marty is off the streets and can't harm anymore children. I encourage all mothers to keep their children near at all times. ... Thank you to APD, the Marshals and the detectives who worked hard to make this happen today. I pray healing for my daughter and pray that we get the justice we deserve."
