The accused I-35 rock-thrower will go to trail this June for one of the criminal charges against him.
Pat Johnson is facing multiple counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Each count will be tried separately.
Austin police said Johnson is behind most of the 90 rock throwing incidents that began in 2014.
No one was killed in any of the incidents, but people were seriously or critically hurt.
Johnson is currently serving a 99-year prison sentence for an unrelated charge of sexual assault of a child.
