A single-vehicle towing an unloaded trailer crashed into a traffic light and knocked it over at the intersection of SH 21 East and SH 95 Monday afternoon.

Bastrop police said they were called out to investigate the crash around 2:30 p.m. Police said the vehicle involved in the crash was attempting to make a left turn onto SH 95 South when the trailer hit the signal pole.

No one was injured and the driver, identified at Robert Spitzenberger, 53, of  Lexington, Texas was able to drive away from the scene.

The southbound lanes at the intersection of SH 21 and SH 95 toward the intersection of SH 71 are expected to be closed for an undetermined amount of time.

Bastrop police said the cost to replace the traffic light is pending.
