AUSTIN – Gov. Greg Abbott will not make an announcement this week regarding whether he will call the Texas Legislature into a special session.

“Stay tuned. Enjoy the weekend,” Matt Hirsch, Abbott’s communications director, told KVUE's partners at the Austin American-Statesman. The governor previously said Monday he would make an announcement by the end of the week, and Wednesday said he was going over bills sent to him by the legislature.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick told KVUE in a one-on-one interview that he was “very disappointed” when it came to some of the priorities that were not passed by the legislature, including a “bathroom bill” and property tax relief.
