It's been a cloudy and wet stretch of weather around Austin and Central Texas as of late. For those of you ready to bask in the sunshine, don't fret. By Wednesday, we'll see the beautiful blue skies return.
However, before then, storms fired up late Tuesday afternoon, bringing with them some small hail, gusty winds and torrential rainfall.
The Bastrop County Emergency Management reported widespread wind damage around Elgin shortly after 6 p.m. A 75 mph wind gust was reported in that area with quarter-sized hail.
Shortly after 7 p.m., the severe thunderstorm watch was canceled for all counties except for Fayette County in KVUE's viewing area.

Once the cold front pushes through late tonight and early Wednesday, the humidity will drop and temperatures to start Wednesday will be in the 50s. Wednesday is shaping up to be spectacular, with highs in the low to mid-80s across the region. Of course, weather in May is always a fluid situation around Central Texas... so make sure to stay with the KVUE Storm Team for the latest updates on the forecast.
