AFD said the family, which consists of three adults and three children, weren't home at the time of the blaze.
No one was injured.
"Anytime you have a fire this bad, right around the Christmas season, it always makes it that much worse," said Division Chief for AFD, Palmer Buck.
Investigators ruled the cause of the fire as accidental due to an electrical shortage. The home was declared a total loss, with an estimated damage cost for the structure and contents at $150,000.
Officials said the family and their four dogs are displaced and will stay with family until they find a more permanent residence.
