Siblings accused of robbing victims after alleged road rage incident

According to an arrest affidavit, Priscilla Mendoza, 30, and her brother Jose Antonio Rangel, 23, are wanted by police for allegedly committing aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

A brother and sister allegedly followed a car leaving the Barton Creek Mall and showcased apparent signs of road rage before forcing the victims to pull into a convenience store where the siblings threatened the victims with a knife, stole their money and "terrorized" them.

According to an arrest affidavit, Priscilla Mendoza, 30, and her brother Jose Antonio Rangel, 23, are wanted by police for allegedly committing aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Police said on Sunday, March, 18, a man went to pick up one of his siblings and two other juveniles from the Barton Creek Mall when he ran into problems with a red vehicle, owned by Mendoza and driven by Rangel.

The man said while leaving the mall, he accidentally drove into the wrong exit lane. When he attempted to reverse his vehicle to get into the correct lane, his vehicle almost collided with the red car.

After the man got into the correct lane, he said the red car continued following behind him for six to 10 minutes and honked and flashed the car's lights at his car. The man said at one point, Mendoza's vehicle stopped in front of his car, and Rangel got out to confront the man and the other victims in his car. However, the man said he drove away to get away from the Rangel but Rangel caught back up with him.

The man said he decided to pull over to a 7-11 location to apologize to Rangel.

Rangel allegedly followed him to the parking lot, got out of the car with a knife, and yelled, "My sister is pregnant! What the [expletive] are you doing?"

Rangel then allegedly demanded money from the man and made a stabbing motion with the knife toward's the man's stomach. He said if the man didn't give him any money, he would go to his vehicle, get a gun and shoot at the man's car, according to the affidavit.

That's when the affidavit states Mendoza chimed in saying, "Do it! Shoot the car!"

Rangel allegedly snatched $5 from the victim's hand. Then, Mendoza allegedly got out to punch the other victims in their faces while Rangel reportedly punctured the tires of the victim's vehicle.

Police said one of the juveniles in the car snapped a picture of the suspect's vehicle and submitted it to police. Police found out that the car was registered to Mendoza.

Investigators prepared a photo lineup of the victims, and a majority of the victims positively identified Rangel and Mendoza as the suspects.

As of Friday, March 23, neither of the suspects are in the Travis County jail.
