Police are searching for witnesses of a dump crash that left one person dead Thursday, July 13, night near the Loop 360 bridge.

Robert David Register, 29, died on July 14 after he was transported to the hospital from the crash.

Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said the crash was around 9 p.m. near the intersection of N Capital of Texas Highway and Courtyard Drive.

Austin police said a loaded dump truck was traveling southbound when it hit the passenger side of a Ford Mustang in the intersection.

Register, who was driving the Mustang, was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries, according to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services. He later died from those injuries.

This is the 32nd fatal traffic crash in Austin this year. At this time in 2016, there were 35 fatal traffic crashes.
