A plan for a high-rise project just east of Interstate 35 got a final approval from the Austin City Council in a late night vote.
In a 7-4 vote, the Council approved the 11-acre Plaza Saltillo development that is expected to stretch six blocks from I-35 to Navasota Street. The residential and commercial building will sit on Capital Metro's Plaza Saltillo train stop. Up until Thursday night, the plan had been delayed for three years.
According to Community Impact, Endeavor Real Estate Group will ensure that 141 of the 800 units there will be marked as affordable housing.
