Calling all Swimmers! The Austin Parks and Recreation Department’s Aquatic & Nature Based Programs Division will host a Staff Holiday Recruitment Event on Dec. 19 from 6-9 p.m. at Fiesta Gardens.
The Division would like to employ over 700 lifeguards to help support their aquatic facilities around Austin. Interested guests of the event will have the opportunity to complete an application and interview for jobs such as: lifeguard, cashier and swim instructor or coach.
The division is looking for anyone who would like a flexible schedule, great pay, outdoor work and year-round opportunities. Applicants do not need experience to apply, however wages will be determined based upon position, experience and age of applicants. Beginning in January 2018, the starting pay will be $13.84 per hour.
Applicants under 15 and 16-years-old will need a parent present during their interview, while 17-year-old applicants are required to have a parent’s signature on the application to be eligible to apply. All applicants must have valid identification and their social security card to complete the application.
