UPDATE: Hays County, Texas - A 14-year-old San Marcos girl who went missing Friday, Dec. 8 has been found safe and is back home with her family, San Marcos police said in a release Tuesday.
No other information was made immediately available.
PREVIOUS: San Marcos police need the public's help finding a missing teenage girl who was last seen on Friday.
Police said Kara Ryan, 14, was last seen at her home in the 200 block of Horseshoe Bend on Dec. 8 just after 11 a.m. In a police report, her parents told police that they thought she had run away because she left their house without permission.
Police said it was reported that the 14-year-old told her sister suicidal comments two days before her disappearance. Her friends told police they have not seen or heard from her.
Ryan was last seen wearing a gray jacket, blue jeans, black Converse shoes, carrying a peach-colored backpack with gray polka-dots on it.
She is approximately 5-feet-5-inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds and has short blonde hair ("bob" cut) and greenish-gray eyes.
