Man killed in shooting at The Domain ID'd, police release suspect descriptions

A man was transported to the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound at The Domain on Tuesday, ATCEMS said.

A man died after suffering a gunshot wound near The Domain, police reported Tuesday.

Around 5 p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS said an adult male, identified Friday as 19-year-old Adam Shorter, was transported with a gunshot wound to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center with critical injuries. Police said Friday that Shorter died around 6:23 p.m on Tuesday.

Police said initial reports indicated that a driver possibly drove by and shot the man. They later reported in a press briefing there may have been a robbery aspect and said they had not heard anything about a drive-by. Police officials said Friday they believe the shooting occurred during an illegal drug transaction based upon witness interviews.

Officials said the shooting occurred near 3210 Kramer Lane in the area of the Dick's Sporting Goods parking lot and they are reviewing surveillance video.

Police are searching for two suspects -- both black males in their 20s. The first suspect was described as "medium build, early 20s, wearing an orange t-shirt, blue jeans, with short afro and a fade on the sides." The suspect was described as an "older male in his late 20s with a belly and braided, pulled back hair, and was wearing a black t-shirt." The suspected vehicle in the shooting was described as a red Saturn.

On Wednesday, March 7, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and ruled the cause of death as gunshot wound and the manner of death a homicide, police said.
