A man was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries after a shooting in southeast Austin Tuesday afternoon.

Police said they received an emergency call at 2:45 p.m. on Encinal Cove near Stassney Lane after multiple gunshots were fired. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services confirmed a man in his 20s was transported to South Austin Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

The Austin Police Department said at a press conference later that they believe four to six people may have been involved. 

APD Air 1 assisted police with the investigation to manage the scene. No arrests have been made, but police do not believe there is a threat to the surrounding community. 

Drivers can expect the roadway to be closed as detectives survey the area.
