A 42-year-old man is accused of drunkenly crashing his car while two children were inside it, according to an Austin police affidavit.

According to the Austin Police Department, Peter Rogalski crashed into a vehicle in the 4000 block of Eskew Drive on Tuesday night. When police arrived and asked Rogalski what happened, he said he "made a mistake" and hit the car.

The officer said Rogalski, who was showing signs of intoxication, was driving with two children -- a 6-year-old and a 9-year-old.

A preliminary breath test resulted in a blood alcohol concentration level of .272.

He has been charged with driving while intoxicated, a state jail felony. According to online records, he is not in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
