Home of Hutto justice of the peace destroyed in fire

The home is a total loss, but she said she is grateful there were no injuries.

HUTTO, Texas -- A Hutto justice of the peace's home has been destroyed in a fire, county officials said.

Emergency officials received a call at 12:44 p.m. Friday about a fire along Country Road 134 in Hutto. It turned out to be the home of Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Judy Hobbs, Williamson County officials said.

“It is a total loss of my home; however, I am grateful that there are no injuries," Hobbs said in a statement. "Thank you to all of the fire departments, first responders, Sheriff’s Office, and Pct. 4 Constable’s Office that have been so helpful during this time.”

Agencies that responded included Hutto Fire & Rescue, Taylor Fire, Round Rock Fire Department, Thrall Fire, Weir Fire, Williamson County EMS, Sheriff’s Office, Pct. 4 Constable’s Office, Williamson County Fire Marshal’s Office, Haz-Mat, Mobile Outreach Team and Emergency Management.
