SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Several days of emotional testimony unfolded in a Hays County courtroom, where a Texas State University student who drove drunk before killing a man and his unborn baby will learn her fate.

Shana Elliott pleaded guilty March 5 in the 2016 drunk driving crash that killed Fabian Guerrero-Moreno, 23, and injured his pregnant wife, Kristian Guerrero. Guerrero was taken to a hospital after the crash, where she lost her unborn son.

“I’ll never be the same, never, their will never be another normal, this is always something that’s going to be there, my heart will always be broken, I will always love him, and our son, and I will always want them back, and this will always hurt," said Guerrero.

When asked if it was a bad mistake, Elliott replied, "The worst."

"I'm guilty," she said.
