Travis County Parks have suspended water activities at Hamilton Pool after the third water emergency in three months.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. Friday morning emergency crews were called to Hamilton Pool for a man who was reported to be in distress while swimming in the pool.

Bystanders were able to pull the man out of the water. He initially refused EMS transport, but became nauseous and was transported to the hospital. This was the third water-related emergency at Hamilton Pool in three months. The most recent incident was on October 2 when a man drowned in the pool.

Due to the recent incidents, Travis County Parks decided to suspend water-related activities until further notice. Updates and information can be found on the Travis County Parks website or by calling the Hamilton Pool information line at 512-264-2740.
