Will you be raking up leaves in your yard this fall? Bag them up and donate them to the Bobcat Blend Composting program!
The City of San Marcos Resource Recovery program and Texas State University's Bobcat Blend Composting program are asking San Marcos residents to donate their leaves and grass clippings for compost.
Bobcat Blend collects plant waste, food waste and cardboard from dining halls, paper packaging materials and invasive plant species from the San Marcos River to create compost.
Leaves and grass clippings can be dropped off in trash or paper bags in the parking lot of the Grant Harris Building at 401 E Hopkins. There will be a large cage trailer to deposit the bags in from November 2 until November 18.
There should be no trash or non-biodegradable materials in the leaves. Residents are also asked to remove large branches. All yard waste, including large branches and stumps, can be dropped off at the monthly brush drop-off on November 12 at 750 River Road from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
