The Round Rock Fire Department extinguished a structure fire that could be seen by drivers on Interstate 35 Tuesday night.

Round Rock Fire Chief Chief Robert Isbell said they received a call about an abandoned home fully engulfed in flames at 8:04 p.m. Chief Isbell said the structure was located near several older homes off of Chisholm trail. The home was about 2,000 square feet and several trees along its perimeter caught fire as well.

Just before 9 p.m., RRFD confirmed that the fire was under control.

The cause is still being investigated.
