While most of you might be thinking about eating your turkeys, folks in Leander cuddled with them Wednesday.
The Safe in Austin group offers therapy for kids by allowing them to hug animals, including turkeys.
The group's founder, Jamie Wallace, said she wants to help people, including kids, relieve stress and enjoy time with their furry -- and feathered -- friends.
Dozens of people stopped for the animal cuddling event.
"I think it's a great opportunity for children to see the animals,” said Mickey Llewellyn, who attended. “Instead of the zoo.”

The cuddling is free, but the organization asks for donations.
