Already planning your commute to Zilker Park for the Austin City Limits Music Festival? You might want to consider hopping on a Capital Metro bus or MetroRail.

CapMetro announced Thursday that it will increase MetroRail service in October for both weekends of the festival and run Saturday-level service on both Sundays too.

Festival goers will have a variety of services to choose from as they head to the park, including Local buses, two MetroRapid routes and MetroRail, all of which CapMetro said are convenient and low-cost options.

Here's more information on their transportation offerings:

Catch the ACL Shuttle at Republic Square Park

Festival attendees will have several options to reach the shuttle site, including MetroRapid, which picks up at numerous stations along North Lamar/South Congress and drops off directly at Republic Square Station. MetroRapid runs until 2:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as on Sundays during the festival.

Other bus lines -- including Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 37 -- drop off within a block of the shuttle site.

Attendees can also take a MetroRail into downtown Austin and then walk a few blocks west to Republic Square Park. MetroRail service will begin at 10:30 a.m. during ACL and operate until 2:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and until 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. Downtown Station is located at Fourth and Trinity.

Travel directly to Zilker Park

CapMetro said MetroRapid 803 is the best option for those seeking to travel directly to the festival. These riders can pick up MetroRapid at any of the 46 stations between The Domain and Westgate and take it to Barton Springs Station, located directly on Lamar near the park.

Festival goers can also ride on CapMetro's Local routes including 3, 30 and 338 directly to the event.

Additional parking at Howard and Lakeline Stations Park & Rides

CapMetro has increased parking this year at both Howard and Lakeline Stations Park & Rides. An additional 85 parking spots were added at Howard Station and 460 were added at Lakeline Station. Respectively, capacity for these stations is 301 and 936.

Late-Night Service

For those festival goers who might be out later than most, CapMetro still offers a few late-night options. MetroRapid routes will run until 2:30 a.m. Thursday through Sunday, and the Night Owl and E-Bus services will run between downtown and various neighborhoods throughout Austin until around 3 a.m. Note that Night Owl and E-Bus services do not operate on Sunday nights.

Late-night riders will be able to catch the Night Owl at the downtown bust stop on Sixth Street and Congress Avenue. The E-Bus downtown bus stop has moved to Sixth Street and Colorado Street for Routes 410 West Campus, 411 Riverside and 412 Main Campus.

CapMetro urges ACL attendees to use the CapMetro App and trip planner to get step-by-step directions for using these services during the festival.
