On Tuesday, residents are invited meet and listen to the two finalists for the Austin city manager position at the Austin Convention Center at 7 p.m.

The final two candidates under consideration for the position are Spencer Cronk and Howard Lazarus, who will be introduced at the event. The public will get the opportunity to hear presentations, listen to a moderated discussion and ask questions of the candidates at the town hall event.

Doors will open to the public at 6:30 p.m. and free parking will be provided at the parking garages at 601 East Fifth Street and 201 East Second Street.

Following the event, the public will also be invited to give their feedback on the two candidates, information from which will be provided directly to the City Council to help aid in their final selection.

Before the town hall, Lazarus and Cronk will meet with members of the city management team, department directors, staff, public safety unions, and the local chapter of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

The Austin City Council hopes to make their final decision by the end of 2017.
