The Austin Police Department is currently working a homicide case in East Austin, police said Saturday.

Officials said they received multiple calls around 10:13 a.m. regarding a disturbance call and a possible crash where one vehicle fled the scene near Martin Luther King and Greenwood Avenue.

Upon investigation, officials said a tan SUV believed to be involved in the crash was located, in which a deceased male was found with a gunshot wound. Officials said the man was in his 30s or 40s.

At this time, officials said they do not believe there to be any outstanding suspects nor any immediate threat to the public. The case will be investigated as a homicide pending results from an autopsy to determine cause of death for the man.
