Employees and regulars of longtime Austin coffee shop and bar Spider House are desperately searching for Brisket, their cat of six years.
Brisket, also known as "Snowball" to some, is an outdoor cat that hangs out at Spider House and next door at Ruby's BBQ. Rachel Stevens, the bar manager at Spider House, told KVUE rumors are that Brisket was found as a kitten under Ruby's deck.
Stevens said Brisket usually comes by every day for food when business is slow. Now, Brisket has a chip that links back to Spider House.
Stevens told KVUE Friday that Brisket has been missing since the last Sunday of South by Southwest Festival back in March. She said occasionally Brisket will disappear for a few days -- especially during events that bring by a lot of customers -- but the cat eventually returns.
The last time she's ever been missing was for six weeks last year. Someone eventually found her in the Mueller neighborhood. Employees believe that someone mistook her for a stray and took her to that neighborhood without checking for a chip first.
Stevens thinks that's what may have happened this time around.
If you have seen her, or mistakenly took her home, employees -- and very concerned customers -- as you to contact Spider House at 512-480-9562.
