TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities have identified three suspects arrested last month as part of a cocaine bust in Travis County.
The sheriff’s office said members of the VICE unit coordinated with SWAT, K-9 and Texas DPS Air Division to conduct surveillance of Sergio Gorostieta on Aug. 17. Around 11 a.m., the surveillance team observed what they believed to be an exchange of narcotics for money between Gorostieta and another person.
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office said Gorostieta was in possession of three kilograms of cocaine, and that he and two others – identified by TCSO as Joaquin Castro and Arnulfo Mondragon – were arrested on a first-degree felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance greater than 400 grams.
TCSO added the current street value of the cocaine is approximately $300,000. Gorostieta was released after posting bond on Aug. 21, the sheriff's office confirmed to KVUE.
