Lago Vista Police are searching for a man accused of robbing a Compass Bank before fleeing into a wooded area on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the man entered the BBVA Compass Bank in the 20600 block of FM 1431 shortly after 3 p.m. Monday. The man demanded money from a teller and took off heading southeast with an undisclosed amount of money. Police added he did not showcase a weapon to the tellers.

On Tuesday, police released a description of the suspect. The robber is described at white or Hispanic, between 5-feet 3-inches and 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, tan or light colored pants and a camouflage baseball-style cap.

The Travis County Sheriff's Deputies and FBI are assisting police on the scene with the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lago Vista Police Department at 512-267-7141.
