AUSTIN – Police say the victim in a southeast Austin shooting crashed his car as he tried to drive himself to the hospital.

APD said the victim was shot at the intersection of Burton Drive and Woodland Avenue late Wednesday. Austin-Travis County EMS said they were called to the intersection of Interstate 35 and Oltorf around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, after police say the victim crashed into four or five other vehicles.

Police are still looking for the shooter, and say he has an extensive history with officers. EMS said the victim was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center.

No one else was seriously hurt, police said.
