A man and woman have been charged in connection to robberies at cell phone stores in Austin and San Antonio, police said.

Austin police have charged Derrick McClyde, 21, and Jasline Johnson, 19, in connection to the Nov. 10 robbery of the Metro PCS store near Burnet and Ohlen Roads. Police say McClyde entered the store shortly after 10 a.m. and pointed his gun at the two female employees. McClyde allegedly made the employees take him to the safe, but left them in the back room when he found there was no money in it. Police allege McClyde took cash from the register and fled, with Johnson acting as the getaway driver. The affidavit states McClyde later confessed to taking one of the victim's backpacks and the $50 from it.

Police say McClyde and Johnson were arrested Nov. 17 by San Antonio police after they allegedly robbed a Metro PCS store there. The affidavit states McClyde told police he stayed at an Austin hotel and confessed to robbing the Burnet Road store. He allegedly told police that he would chamber a live round of ammunition in his handgun then point it at the victims to scare them.

McClyde and Johnson have been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. The affidavit states McClyde's bond has been set at $75,000, and Johnson's bond has been set at $25,000.
