Police are searching for a man who was caught on camera wearing something similar to a "jabbawockeez" mask while robbing four gas stations.

According to police, the man -- who is described as white, thin and 5-feet 9-inches tall -- walked into the Shell Gas Station located at 7510 North MoPac Expressway at 10:46 p.m. on Sept. 27 with a lit roman candle and a hammer. He then approached the clerk and demanded money before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

At the time of this robbery, he was wearing dark clothing and a hood in addition to the mask.

The second robbery happened on Sept. 29 at 5:25 a.m. at the 7-Eleven located at 3848 Airport Boulevard. The man -- along with two other people -- arrived at the gas station in a four-door car before he entered the store with a lit roman candle and a hammer. He again left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The following is surveillance video from that robbery:

During this robbery, he was wearing an olive green Adidas jacket with orange stripes, a green shirt, dark pants and the same mask in the first robbery.

The third robbery was on Oct. 1 at 3:17 a.m. at the 7-Eleven located in the 9200 block of Burnet Rd. The fourth robbery was at the 7-Eleven in the 6100 block of Bee Caves Rd.

The suspect's vehicle is a dark blue 2015-17 Hyundai Sonata with damage to the right rear passenger window.

People living and shopping in the area around the gas stations agree the crime is certainly brazen.

Chrystal Davis is also concerned.

"My husband doesn't like me to get gas late at night or early in the morning," she said. "So I get it after work, so I feel safer."

"I haven't heard about it in this area or around Austin in general," said Tom Fackler, who lives near one of the gas stations. "But I assume that in a bigger city these things happen."

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call 512-974-5092 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.
