HAYS COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are searching for the driver of a Jeep who showed and discharged a handgun along U.S. 290 shortly before Thanksgiving.
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the area of U.S. 290 and South Canyonwood Drive – east of Dripping Springs – around 8:50 a.m. Nov. 21 for the incident. A man, described by the sheriff’s office as a white man wearing a ball cap with “what appeared to be blonde or reddish hair” and facial hair, displayed and then discharged the handgun.
The sheriff’s office said the man was last seen driving east on U.S. 290 toward Travis County. The vehicle is described as a red Jeep Liberty or Renegade, with a “turtle” sticker on the back window and reportedly had a child’s car seat inside.
