Austin's real estate community came together Thursday night to help a charity battle breast cancer by selling one-of-a-kind bras.

When all is said and done, organizers hope to raise $15,000 for Austin's Breast Cancer Resource Center.

As part of the fifth annual Bras 4A cause at Gather on North Lamar, businesses connected to the real estate industry -- like mortgage and title companies -- decorated bras to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

This year, the theme at the event presented by the Women's Council of Realtors was movies, and the models were all first responders and veterans.

The event's chair says supporting BCRC is so important because it is a lifeline for so many women.

"Yeah, its a bleak diagnosis sometimes," explained Christina Isaac. "But there are survivors, and there are cures, and there are treatments, and there are people there to help you along the way. So just to give you that light at the end of the tunnel that there is one."

The Breast Cancer Resource Center is a grassroots organization created by breast cancer survivors.

It helps people of any age, culture, gender or financial status navigate breast cancer from diagnosis through recovery for free.
