Keep Austin Local: Something Cool Studios

Support local art and artists at this East Austin studio.

AUSTIN, Texas — KVUE wants to help “Keep Austin Local” by highlighting local businesses, events and people that make Austin special.

On Friday, KVUE stopped by Something Cool Studios, an East Austin artist-run collective that provides space for artists to create their work, host workshops and sell their art.

The artists you can find at Something Cool Studios are ULOANG, J. Muzacz, Sam Landis, Brad Istre, SLEEP and Fabian Rey.

Something Cool Studios just closed their show "Frame of Mind" with Jason Eatherly and GENT. Now the studio is currently featuring the works of a graffiti crew called The Blue Dozen Collective. The show opens Friday, June 4, and Saturday, June 5, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

There are a few ways to show support for these local artists. They have workshops including a street art/graffiti workshop, a mosaic workshop, a guitar setup workshop and more. You can also book these artists for murals, activations to your space, or for live paintings. You can also buy merchandise from their studio.

You can find Something Cool Studios online, on Instagram, or at 1717 East Cesar Chavez St. in Austin.
