Keep Austin Local: Kinda Tropical

Try a frozen cocktail and enjoy the patio while supporting local.

AUSTIN, Texas — Central Texans have seen many businesses shutting down because of the COVID-19 pandemic. KVUE wants to help "Keep Austin Local" by highlighting small businesses that might need a little help.

On Friday, KVUE stopped by Kinda Tropical located on East Seventh Street.

Kinda Tropical has been around since 2016 but it did some revamping in 2019. Currently, the inside is closed but they still have a large patio outside. Like many other businesses, the COVID-19 pandemic was scary for their business, but they are excited to seemingly be on the other side.

The restaurant and bar is known for its cocktails, like frozen piña coladas, frozen mango margaritas, or a paint-it black margarita. They also have food options including fried shrimp, a pulled-jackfruit sandwich and burgers.

They have brunch on the weekends, as well as occasional markets in the parking lot featuring local vendors.

You can find Kinda Tropical at 3501 E. Seventh Street, or online here.
