ROUND ROCK, Texas – Round Rock police will begin offering peace of mind to residents concerned about packages being stolen from front porches this holiday.

RRPD said that as part of Operation Front Porch, people can have deliveries sent to their headquarters for safe keeping. Police ask people participating to bring a donation for Operation Blue Santa when they pick up their packages. Those interested should have packages with residents’ names and addresses of 2701 North Mays Street, Round Rock, TX 78665 (RRPD’s headquarters).

Packages will be received and stored from Dec. 1-22. Residents can pick up the packages Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pickups on Dec. 22 are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

People can pick up their packages by bringing a government-issued ID card with Round Rock address, order/shipment proof of receipt, and a toy or cash donation for Operation Blue Santa. RRPD said packages must be under 50 pounds and picked up within two days of delivery. People with questions can call the RRPD non-emergency line at 512-218-5500.
