Tucson is around 45 minutes from Sonora, Mexico, and that proximity allows people in Southern Arizona to enjoy great Mexican cuisine, including the Sonora hot dog. They have been around since the 1980s, but recently came to Burnet Road in Austin.

Miguel Kaiser and his partner of 11 years Zulma Natiren opened their first food trailer around 18 months after moving to Austin. T-Loc's Sonora Hot Dogs is at 5000 Burnet Road, and the “T-Loc” is short for “Tucson local.”

It starts with a bacon-wrapped hot dog, bread straight from Arizona, homemade jalapeno sauce, mustard, mayo, fresh onions, tomatoes and beans.

T-Loc's is expanding their menu, along with their storefronts. A second location is planned along West Cesar Chavez.
