After two years in West Texas, Jason Puckett is thrilled to be at KVUE as a news reporter. Prior to Austin, he worked as an anchor, reporter and producer at the ABC station in Lubbock, TX. While there, Jason covered a vast number of topics including gubernatorial elections, high-profile murder trials and historic weather events.

The Charlotte native found a passion for storytelling and journalism in high school. He pursued that passion at Elon University, where he earned a degree in Journalism and Political Science.

During college, he interned with CBS’ “60 Minutes,” where he developed a love for long-form storytelling.

While he still calls Charlotte, North Carolina home, Jason was born in Texas and is actually the 7th generation of his family to live here. Austin is truly a unique city with an amazing culture and outstanding growth, and Jason is ready to start finding the stories that matter to this community.

When he isn’t out finding that next big story, Jason loves tinkering with electronics, hiking and exploring. He is an Eagle Scout and an avid camper.

If you'd like to reach Jason, you can email him; follow him on Twitter; or like his Facebook page.
