Motorcyclist killed in downtown crash

AUSTIN – A man was killed in an early Tuesday morning crash along Cesar Chavez in downtown Austin.

Austin-Travis County EMS said they responded to the 900 block of West Cesar Chavez (near Lamar Boulevard) around 12:45 a.m. Dec. 5 for the crash. The man, believed to be in his 20s, died at the scene. EMS clarified around 7 a.m. that the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.

Cesar Chavez has reopened, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation. The name of the man killed has not been released, pending notification of his family.
