Nathan Gogo is the meteorologist for KVUE’s Weekend Nightbeat.
Gogo joined KVUE’s Storm Team in 2015 after serving as a meteorologist for KWTX-TV in Waco. Before that, he was a meteorologist at KSNB-TV in Hastings, Nebraska. Gogo covered Hurricane Harvey in 2017 as the field meteorologist for TEGNA TV-stations. Besides hurricanes, Gogo has covered tornado outbreaks, flash flood emergencies and winter storms.
Gogo holds a B.S. Degree in Meteorology from Iowa State University with an emphasis on Broadcasting. In college, he had the opportunity to work alongside Amy Freeze at Fox News in Chicago and Tom Skilling at WGN in Chicago. Gogo is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and National Weather Association (NWA).
Outside of KVUE, Gogo has completed the Chicago Marathon and loves to hit the trail or gym to break a sweat. He’s also a bit of a self-proclaimed nerd. At one time, he held the title of one of the top checkers players in the United States. He won the Illinois State Championship and competed against the World Champion.
Gogo lends his time away from the studio at Central Texas schools spending time with children and participating in other charitable causes for KVUE.
Born and raised around Chicago, he grew up as a big Chicago Cubs fan. He still goes back frequently to visit family, to catch a game at Wrigley Field and -- of course -- to "stuff" his face with the best pizza in the world.
