KVUE names Anavid Reyes as Daybreak Weekday Traffic Reporter

AUSTIN - KVUE is excited to announce that Anavid Reyes will be joining the Daybreak morning news team as the weekday traffic reporter.

Reyes comes to KVUE from KRBC, the NBC and Telemundo affiliate in Abilene, Texas.  Reyes was born in Monterrey, Mexico and started her broadcasting career in Houston where she was a feature reporter and online editor for a local radio station.

Reyes attended the University of Texas at San Antonio where she received a bachelor’s degree in communications.

Daybreak is now a complete morning team with the addition of Reyes as the permanent traffic reporter. She will guide viewers through their morning commute alongside anchors Yvonne Nava, Bryan Mays and recently added morning Meteorologist Erika Lopez.

"Getting to work in a city like Austin, which is growing and thriving at such an incredible rate, is riveting! I can't wait to fully immerse myself in all that is Austin," Reyes said.

"Anavid is a fantastic addition to team Daybreak. She has such a positive and upbeat attitude and brings a lot of energy to our newscasts. We are so happy to have her join us," Daybreak anchor Yvonne Nava said.

"Anavid walked into our studio for her interview and walked out with everyone’s respect. We all instantly knew she would be a great fit," added KVUE News Director Mike Redding.

Reyes starts at KVUE on March 20 and will be on-air in April. You can follow her on Facebook and on Twitter where she’ll be showing you how to navigate Austin’s morning traffic jams.
